Creamed Oatmeal Porridge
Ingredients
- 2 cups oatmeal
- 4 cups water
- 1 ½ cups milk
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon butter
- ½ teaspoon salt
- cream and sugar for serving
Method
- 1 Soak oatmeal in water overnight.
- 2 In the morning, strain the oatmeal and boil the water for 30 minutes.
- 3 Scald the milk and thicken it by whisking in flour mixed with a little cold milk.
- 4 Add the thickened milk to the boiled water along with butter and salt.
- 5 Boil the mixture well, then serve with cream and sugar.
