Creamed Mushrooms And Chestnuts
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups stewed chestnuts
- 1 1/2 cups stewed mushrooms
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 cups milk
Method
- 1 Stew chestnuts and mushrooms until tender, then cut into pieces of similar size and mix together.
- 2 Melt butter in a saucepan, stir in flour, salt, and pepper.
- 3 Gradually stir in hot milk and cook until the sauce thickens.
- 4 Pour the cream sauce over the mushroom and chestnut mixture and serve.
