Ingredients

  • 1 peck green peas, shelled
  • Salted water
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Butter or cream
  • Optional: small bunch green mint or parsley
  • Optional: 2-3 young onions or 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • Optional: little sugar

Method

  1. 1 Shell the green peas.
  2. 2 Cook peas in boiling salted water until tender. If using, boil mint, parsley, onions, or minced onion with the peas.
  3. 3 Drain the peas.
  4. 4 Season with salt, pepper, and butter or cream. Add a little sugar if desired.
  5. 5 Serve immediately.
