Cream Baked Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 young chicken, cut up
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1½ cups cream, sweet or sour

Method

  1. 1 Sprinkle chicken pieces with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour.
  2. 2 Melt butter in a skillet and fry chicken until golden brown on all sides.
  3. 3 Place chicken in a casserole dish and pour cream over it.
  4. 4 Cover and bake in a 350°F oven for 2 hours.
  5. 5 Serve with gravy made from the pan drippings left after frying.
