Cottage Pudding With Raisin Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk or water
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2 tbsp Crisco
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup sultana raisins
- 1 tbsp Crisco
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp flour
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
- 2 Cream 2 tbsp Crisco and 1 cup sugar; beat in egg, milk, vanilla, flour, baking powder, salt, and raisins.
- 3 Pour batter into a greased mold and bake for 25 minutes.
- 4 For sauce, mix 1 tbsp Crisco, 1 cup sugar, and 1 tsp flour in a saucepan.
- 5 Stir in egg and boiling water; boil for 3 minutes.
- 6 Remove from heat, stir in 1/2 tsp vanilla, and serve over the warm pudding.
