Cornmeal Sweet Milk Cornbread
Ingredients
- 2 cups cornmeal
- 2 cups sweet milk (whole or skim)
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons fat
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
Method
- 1 Mix the dry ingredients (cornmeal, baking powder, and salt) in a bowl.
- 2 Add the milk, well-beaten egg, and melted fat to the dry mixture.
- 3 Beat the batter well until smooth.
- 4 Pour into a shallow pan and bake for about 30 minutes.
