Cornmeal Loaf Bread
Ingredients
- 2 cups cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 eggs
- 2½ cups milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Method
- 1 Mix cornmeal, flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
- 2 Beat eggs until thick and light, then stir in milk.
- 3 Combine wet and dry mixtures, adding sugar and melted butter. Beat until smooth.
- 4 Pour batter into greased pans to a depth of 2 inches.
- 5 Bake in a hot oven (425°F) for about 30 minutes.
