Cornmeal Loaf Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 2½ cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Method

  1. 1 Mix cornmeal, flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
  2. 2 Beat eggs until thick and light, then stir in milk.
  3. 3 Combine wet and dry mixtures, adding sugar and melted butter. Beat until smooth.
  4. 4 Pour batter into greased pans to a depth of 2 inches.
