Cornmeal Crusted Fried Chicken
Ingredients
- medium-sized chickens, cut into pieces
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- Crisco for frying
Method
- 1 Wash chicken pieces and season them.
- 2 Mix cornmeal, flour, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
- 3 Dip each chicken piece into the cornmeal mixture to coat.
- 4 Fry in hot Crisco for 12 minutes until cooked through.
- 5 Drain on paper towels and serve with cornmeal batter bread.
