  • 2 tbsp Crisco
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 ears corn
  • 6 okra pods
  • 6 tomatoes
  • 2 cups water

Method

  1. 1 Cut corn from the cob and place in a saucepan. Cover with water and bring to a boil.
  2. 2 Scald, peel, and chop tomatoes. Slice okra into half-inch rounds.
  3. 3 Add tomatoes, okra, Crisco, salt, and pepper to the corn. Stir and cook until tender.
