Coffee Custard
Ingredients
- 6 cups milk
- 8 egg yolks
- 8 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup strong black coffee
Method
- 1 Beat 8 egg yolks with 8 tablespoons of sugar.
- 2 Thicken 6 cups of boiling milk with the egg mixture.
- 3 Stir in 1 cup of strong black coffee.
- 4 Strain the mixture into custard cups.
- 5 Place cups in a pan of water reaching halfway up the sides.
- 6 Simmer for 20 minutes, then serve cold.
