Codfish Stew With Mashed Potato Border

Ingredients

  • 6 potatoes
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 pt codfish
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp hot milk
  • onion

Method

  1. 1 Boil and mash potatoes. Mix in 2 tbsp butter, salt, pepper, and 1 cup milk. Pile in a circle on a round platter.
  2. 2 Freshen codfish and pick into small pieces.
  3. 3 Melt 2 tbsp butter with 1 tbsp flour. Stir in 2 tbsp hot milk and a little onion.
  4. 4 Add fish to saucepan and cook for 15 minutes.
  5. 5 Turn fish mixture into the potato circle and serve hot.
