Coconut Rice With Whole Spices
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 3 inches water
- coconut milk from the grated coconut
- 1 pinch turmeric
- salt to taste
- 6 cloves
- 2 cardamom seeds
- 12 peppercorns
Method
- 1 Mix rice with grated coconut.
- 2 Combine rice and coconut in a pot with enough water to cover by 3 inches. Add coconut milk, turmeric, salt, cloves, cardamom, and peppercorns.
- 3 Boil, then cook in a rice boiler or steamer until tender.
