Cocoa Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb stale bread
- 1 pint milk
- 1 oz butter
- 3 oz sugar
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 3 eggs
- vanilla extract to taste
Method
- 1 Boil bread in milk until soft and mashed.
- 2 Stir in cocoa (smoothed with hot water), sugar, and vanilla. Cool slightly.
- 3 Mix in beaten egg yolks, then fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
- 4 Pour into a buttered dish and bake for 1 hour.
