Classic French Toast
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp sugar
- 8 slices bread
- 1/2 tsp salt
- butter or oil for frying
- syrup or jelly for serving
Method
- 1 Beat the egg and mix in the milk, salt, and sugar.
- 2 Dip each slice of bread into the liquid, turning quickly to coat both sides.
- 3 Place bread in a hot frying pan with butter or oil and sauté until the underside is brown.
- 4 Turn the slices and brown the other side.
- 5 Serve hot with syrup or jelly.
