Citrus Apple Puff Pastry Pie
Ingredients
- 2 oranges
- 2 lemons
- 5 quarts water
- 1 pound loaf sugar
- 1 pint water
- 12 pippin apples, peeled and cored

Method
- 1 Boil oranges and lemons in 5 quarts water until rinds are tender. Remove, cool, slice thin, and remove seeds.
- 2 Dissolve sugar in 1 pint water by boiling. Add peeled, cored apples and the sliced citrus. Stew until tender.
- 3 Line a dish with puff pastry. Layer the fruit mixture inside. Pour syrup over the top.
- 4 Cover with puff pastry and add decorative pastry strips. Bake until golden brown.
