Citrus And Berry Brandy Punch
Ingredients
- 1 lb granulated sugar
- 6 lemons
- 1 box strawberries
- 2 lemons, sliced
- 6 oranges, sliced
- 1 pineapple, cut into small pieces
- 1 quart brandy
- 1 quart sherry wine
- 1 quart Madeira wine
- 4 quarts champagne
- 2 quarts carbonated water
- 1 large block of clear ice
Method
- 1 Bruise the skins of 6 lemons and rub them into 1 lb of sugar to infuse the citrus oils.
- 2 Place the infused sugar in a large punch bowl. Add the sliced lemons, oranges, pineapple, and strawberries.
- 3 Pour in the brandy, sherry, and Madeira wine. Stir well to combine and dissolve the sugar.
- 4 Transfer the mixture to a second bowl containing a large block of clear ice to keep it chilled without diluting too quickly.
- 5 Just before serving, add the champagne and carbonated water. Stir gently and serve in punch glasses with fruit.
