Cinnamon Sugar Wafers
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 cups flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sour milk (or sweet milk with 1 tsp soda dissolved in it)
- Granulated sugar mixed with cinnamon, for sprinkling
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream butter and sugar, then beat in eggs.
- 2 Mix in the milk (and soda if using sweet milk) and flour to form a dough.
- 3 Spread the dough very thinly on ungreased tin sheets, either as small cakes or one large sheet.
- 4 Bake until half done, then remove from oven and sift a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon over the top.
- 5 Return to oven to finish baking. If baked as one large sheet, cut into pieces while warm.
