Cinnamon Sugar Scones
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- 6 tbsp shortening
- 7 tbsp water
- milk for washing top
- sugar for sprinkling
- cinnamon for sprinkling
Method
- 1 Sift together flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder three times.
- 2 Rub in shortening, add water, and work into a smooth elastic dough.
- 3 Mold dough to fit a pie tin, wash top with milk, and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 25 minutes.
- 5 Cool, cut into wedges, and serve with cheese or fruit.
