Cinnamon Sugar Scones

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 6 tbsp shortening
  • 7 tbsp water
  • milk for washing top
  • sugar for sprinkling
  • cinnamon for sprinkling

Method

  1. 1 Sift together flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder three times.
  2. 2 Rub in shortening, add water, and work into a smooth elastic dough.
  3. 3 Mold dough to fit a pie tin, wash top with milk, and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  4. 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 25 minutes.
  5. 5 Cool, cut into wedges, and serve with cheese or fruit.
