Cinnamon Sugar Apple Fritters
Ingredients
- 1 cup sifted flour
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 egg
- 4 large apples
- shortening for frying
- cinnamon for sprinkling
Method
- 1 Sift together flour, baking powder, 2 tablespoons sugar, and salt.
- 2 Stir in milk and egg until well combined to form a smooth batter.
- 3 Peel, core, and slice apples into ¼-inch thick rings.
- 4 Dip apple rings in batter and drop into hot melted shortening.
- 5 Fry until golden brown on both sides, then drain on paper towels.
- 6 Mix remaining sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle over warm fritters.
