Cinnamon Spiced Cream Custard
Ingredients
- 1 pint milk
- 1 strip lemon peel
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 5 egg yolks
- Sugar to taste
- 1 tbsp peach water
- 2 tsp brandy or ratafia
Method
- 1 Boil milk with lemon peel and cinnamon until flavored, then remove from heat.
- 2 Whisk egg yolks with sugar, then stir in the hot milk mixture.
- 3 Pour into cream and stir constantly over low heat until thickened. Do not boil.
- 4 Remove from heat and stir in peach water and brandy or ratafia.
