Cinnamon Applesauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 apple, cut in quarters
  • 1/4 cup water
  • sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (optional)

Method

  1. 1 Wash apples and cut into quarters. Peeling is optional but will reduce fiber.
  2. 2 Combine apples and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
  3. 3 Simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes until apples are tender, stirring occasionally.
  4. 4 Stir in sugar and heat until dissolved.
  5. 5 Stir in cinnamon before serving if desired.
