Chocolate Pudding With Whipped Cream
Ingredients
- 1 quart milk
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 ounces chocolate
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons boiling water
- whipped cream
- vanilla extract
Method
- 1 Reserve 1/2 cup milk; heat the remaining 3 1/2 cups in a double boiler.
- 2 Mix cornstarch with reserved cold milk. Beat eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt; add to cornstarch mixture.
- 3 Stir egg mixture into hot milk, beating well for one minute.
- 4 Melt chocolate with 4 tablespoons sugar and 2 tablespoons boiling water over heat until smooth.
- 5 Beat melted chocolate into hot pudding. Cook 10 minutes total from adding eggs.
- 6 Serve cold with powdered sugar and cream, or mold and fill center with vanilla whipped cream.
