Chocolate Molasses Fudge
Ingredients
- 1 cup molasses
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 pound chocolate, finely grated
- 1/2 egg-sized piece of butter
Method
- 1 Boil the milk and molasses together in a saucepan.
- 2 Grate the chocolate fine and mix with a small amount of the boiling liquid to form a smooth paste.
- 3 Stir the chocolate paste and sugar into the remaining boiling liquid.
- 4 Add the butter and boil for 20 minutes.
- 5 Test for hardness by dropping a bit into cold water; if it hardens, pour into a buttered dish and cut when set.
