Chocolate Layer Cake With Boiled Frosting

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup grated chocolate
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 2 eggs, well-beaten
• 2/3 cup milk
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 cups flour
• 1 heaping tsp baking powder

Method

1. 1 Boil 1/2 cup grated chocolate, 1/2 cup milk, and 1/2 cup sugar together until thick, then cool.
2. 2 Cream 1/2 cup butter with 1 cup brown sugar, then add 2 well-beaten eggs, 2/3 cup milk, and 1 tsp vanilla.
3. 3 Stir in the cooled chocolate mixture, then sift in 2 cups flour and 1 heaping tsp baking powder.
4. 4 Bake in layers and assemble with chocolate or boiled frosting.
