Chocolate Glazed Vanilla Cream Puffs
Ingredients
- ½ cup water
- 2 oz butter
- 1 oz sugar
- 2.5 oz finely sifted flour
- 2 eggs
- Whipped cream, vanilla or jam for filling
- Chocolate icing for glazing
Method
- 1 In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and sugar to a boil. Add flour gradually and stir until the mixture is stiff.
- 2 Remove from heat, stir a bit more, then add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Let cool slightly.
- 3 Butter a baking sheet and drop paste in plum-sized rounds. Bake in a 350°F oven for 20 minutes.
- 4 Cool pastries, cut a small incision in the side, and fill with vanilla whipped cream or jam.
- 5 Glaze each chou lightly with chocolate icing just before serving.
