Chocolate Fudge Cake With Vanilla Frosting
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 egg whites
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- melted chocolate
Method
- 1 Cream 1/2 cup butter with 1 cup sugar. Fold in stiffly beaten whites of 4 eggs.
- 2 Sift in 1 1/2 cups flour and 1 tsp baking powder. Mix well and flavor with vanilla.
- 3 Bake batter in a square tin until done.
- 4 Boil 1 1/2 cups sugar with 1/2 cup milk until it forms a soft ball in cold water.
- 5 Flavor syrup with vanilla and stir until thick. Spread over the cake.
- 6 Pour melted chocolate over the top.
