Chocolate Frosted Loaf Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 5 eggs (omitting whites of 2)
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 2 egg whites
- 6 heaping tablespoons grated chocolate
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream butter and sugar, then add milk.
- 2 Add egg yolks, cream of tartar, and baking soda. Mix well.
- 3 Stir in flour until combined. Pour into two loaf pans.
- 4 Bake until done. While hot, frost with mixture of egg whites, chocolate, sugar, and vanilla.
