Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Fondant Candies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fondant
  • Peppermint essence
  • Green or pink color paste (optional)
  • 2 ounces chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon boiling water

Method

  1. 1 Melt a small amount of fondant and flavor with peppermint essence. Tint with color paste if desired.
  2. 2 Drop the flavored fondant mixture onto waxed paper in 1.25-inch rounds. Let stand in a cool place for 1 hour.
  3. 3 Melt 1 cup fondant with chocolate and boiling water in a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
  4. 4 Dip each peppermint into the chocolate mixture and place on oil cloth. Let stand until the chocolate sets.
