  • 1 cup syrup
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • 6 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method

  1. 1 Combine water, syrup, cocoa, cornstarch, and cinnamon in a saucepan. Stir until the starch is fully dissolved.
  2. 2 Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and cook slowly for six minutes.
  3. 3 Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Cool completely before using as a filling for cakes, éclairs, cream puffs, or pie.
