Chocolate Cornstarch Filling
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup syrup
- ½ cup cocoa
- 6 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Method
- 1 Combine water, syrup, cocoa, cornstarch, and cinnamon in a saucepan. Stir until the starch is fully dissolved.
- 2 Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and cook slowly for six minutes.
- 3 Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Cool completely before using as a filling for cakes, éclairs, cream puffs, or pie.
