Chocolate Coated Fig And Walnut Truffles
Ingredients
- 5 figs
- 3-4 tbsp water or sherry
- ½ cup English walnut meats
- Powdered sugar, as needed
- Fondant
- 3-4 oz Baker's chocolate
- 1 tsp vanilla
Method
- 1 Remove stems and hard spots from figs. Steam with water or sherry in a double boiler until softened.
- 2 Add walnuts and chop the mixture very fine.
- 3 Mix in powdered sugar until the consistency allows shaping into balls.
- 4 Melt chocolate and combine with fondant and vanilla.
- 5 Coat the fig-nut balls in the chocolate mixture and drop onto waxed paper to set.
