Chocolate Caramel Layer Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 3 eggs, beaten separately
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1/4 stick unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour cake pans.
  2. 2 Cream butter and sugar, then add beaten eggs and vanilla.
  3. 3 Mix in flour and baking powder alternately with milk.
  4. 4 Pour batter into pans and bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. 5 For filling, boil sugar and milk for 8 minutes.
  6. 6 Stir flour mixed with cold water into the syrup and boil 5 more minutes.
  7. 7 Cool the white filling, then beat until creamy.
  8. 8 For chocolate filling, add melted chocolate and vanilla to the white filling base.
  9. 9 Layer cake with fillings between layers.
