Chocolate Caramel Layer Cake
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 3 eggs, beaten separately
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1/4 stick unsweetened chocolate
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour cake pans.
- 2 Cream butter and sugar, then add beaten eggs and vanilla.
- 3 Mix in flour and baking powder alternately with milk.
- 4 Pour batter into pans and bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
- 5 For filling, boil sugar and milk for 8 minutes.
- 6 Stir flour mixed with cold water into the syrup and boil 5 more minutes.
- 7 Cool the white filling, then beat until creamy.
- 8 For chocolate filling, add melted chocolate and vanilla to the white filling base.
- 9 Layer cake with fillings between layers.
