Chocolate Cake With Egg White Boiled Frosting
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz chocolate, melted
- 0.5 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 0.5 cup milk
- 1.25 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar (for frosting)
- 1 egg white (for frosting)
Method
- 1 Melt chocolate in 0.5 cup milk. Beat in 2 eggs, separating one white for frosting.
- 2 Stir in 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp baking soda dissolved in 0.5 cup milk, and 1.25 cups flour.
- 3 Pour batter into a greased dripping pan and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until done.
- 4 For frosting, boil 1 cup sugar with a little water until thick, then beat in the reserved egg white.
