Chilled Whipped Cream Mousse
Ingredients
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon liqueur (curaçao, noyau, or kirsch) OR 1 tablespoon strong black coffee OR 1 teaspoon flavoring extract OR 1 ounce melted chocolate diluted with milk/cream and 1 teaspoon vanilla
Method
- 1 Whip the heavy cream until very stiff. Turn it onto a sieve and let it drain for a few minutes to remove excess moisture.
- 2 Return the drained cream to a bowl. Gently fold in the powdered sugar and your chosen flavoring (liqueur, coffee, extract, or chocolate mixture).
- 3 Transfer the mixture into a mold. Pack the mold in a mixture of ice and salt for four hours to set.
- 4 Unmold onto a serving dish and garnish with small iced cakes or cookies.
