Chilled Bacon Fat Red Cabbage Slaw
Ingredients
- 2 cups shredded red cabbage
- 2 onions, chopped fine
- 1 green pepper, chopped fine
- 1 tablespoon bacon fat
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon mustard
Method
- 1 Shred the cabbage and place it in a bowl. Add the chopped onions and green pepper.
- 2 In a saucepan, heat the bacon fat, vinegar, salt, white pepper, and mustard to the boiling point.
- 3 Pour the hot liquid over the cabbage mixture. Chill thoroughly and serve.
