Chicken And Mushroom Stew With Mace

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 6 mushroom caps, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tsp grated onion
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup cream, stock, or milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • a few grains of mace
  • 1 lb chicken, finely chopped

Method

  1. 1 Melt butter in a skillet. Add sliced mushrooms and grated onion; cook slowly for about 6 minutes.
  2. 2 Stir in flour until smooth. Add cream (or stock/milk), salt, pepper, and mace. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  3. 3 Stir in the chopped chicken. Heat through and serve immediately while hot.
