Chicken And Gravy Shortcake
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup sweet milk
- Cold cooked chicken pieces
- Gravy or soup stock
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley
Method
- 1 Mix baking powder into flour. Rub in butter until crumbly.
- 2 Stir in milk to form a dough. Bake quickly in a hot oven until golden.
- 3 Heat chicken pieces with gravy or stock and season well.
- 4 Top the hot shortcake with the chicken mixture and chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
