Cheesy Mushroom Macaroni
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 12 peeled mushrooms, broken into pieces and blanched
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- ¼ lb macaroni, cooked and blanched
- ¼ cup grated cheese
Method
- 1 Melt 1 tbsp butter with lemon juice in a blazer. Add blanched mushrooms and cook slowly, covered, for 5-6 minutes.
- 2 Add milk and scald. Stir in 2 tbsp butter and 2 tbsp flour, creamed together, until the sauce boils.
- 3 Add cooked macaroni. Heat over hot water and stir in grated cheese just before serving.
