Cheese Stuffed Onions

Ingredients

  • fine white onions
  • salt
  • bread crumbs
  • pepper
  • grated cheese
  • catsup
  • cream or milk
  • butter

Method

  1. 1 Boil onions in salted water for 1 hour, changing water 3 times. Drain and scoop out the centers.
  2. 2 Mix bread crumbs, salt, pepper, grated cheese, catsup, and mashed onion. Moisten with cream or milk.
  3. 3 Fill onions with the mixture. Wrap each in buttered paper, twist ends, and place in a buttered pan.
  4. 4 Bake for 1 hour. Remove paper, pour melted butter over them, and serve.
