Ingredients

  • 3 oz bread crumbs
  • 1 pint milk
  • ½ lb grated cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 oz butter
  • Pepper and salt
  • A little cayenne

Method

  1. 1 Place bread crumbs in a basin. Boil milk and pour it over the crumbs to soak.
  2. 2 Stir in egg yolks, grated cheese, butter, pepper, salt, and cayenne.
  3. 3 Beat egg whites to stiff peaks and gently fold them into the mixture.
  4. 4 Pour into a greased pie dish and bake in a 425°F oven until risen and browned.
