Cheese Puff Pastry Strips

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 egg yolks
  • Salt and paprika to taste
  • 2 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ pound plain or puff pastry

Method

  1. 1 Cream the butter and beat in the egg white and yolks.
  2. 2 Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, and paprika.
  3. 3 Roll the pastry thin and cut into two rectangles.
  4. 4 Spread the cheese mixture on one rectangle and top with the second.
  5. 5 Score the pastry into 1x3 inch strips, brush with beaten egg, and bake for 15 minutes.
  6. 6 Cut out the strips while hot and serve immediately.
