Cheese Onions On Bread
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb onions
- 3 oz grated cheese
- 2 oz butter
- squares of Allinson wholemeal bread
- pepper and salt to taste
- 3 pints water
Method
- 1 Peel and chop the onions.
- 2 Fry the onions in butter until nicely browned.
- 3 Add the cheese and 3 pints of water, then boil together.
- 4 Season to taste.
- 5 Place bread squares in a tureen and pour the boiling soup over them. Serve immediately.
