Cheese Fondue With Pickles
Ingredients
- ½ lb dairy cheese
- ¼ cup cream or milk
- 1 small piece butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp finely chopped cucumber pickle
- salt and cayenne to taste
- buttered toast for serving
Method
- 1 Melt the cheese over hot water in a saucepan, stirring constantly.
- 2 Add cream (or milk), butter, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, and chopped pickle.
- 3 Stir all ingredients until the mixture is thick and smooth.
- 4 Season highly with salt and cayenne, then serve immediately on buttered toast.
