Cheese Fondue With Pickles

Ingredients

  • ½ lb dairy cheese
  • ¼ cup cream or milk
  • 1 small piece butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped cucumber pickle
  • salt and cayenne to taste
  • buttered toast for serving

Method

  1. 1 Melt the cheese over hot water in a saucepan, stirring constantly.
  2. 2 Add cream (or milk), butter, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, and chopped pickle.
  3. 3 Stir all ingredients until the mixture is thick and smooth.
  4. 4 Season highly with salt and cayenne, then serve immediately on buttered toast.
