Cheese Bread Pudding With Meringue
Ingredients
- 1 cup dried bread crumbs
- fresh milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon butter
- ½ pound grated cheese
- sifted bread crumbs
- 3 egg whites
Method
- 1 Soak one cup of dried bread crumbs in fresh milk.
- 2 Beat in the yolks of three eggs, one teaspoon of butter, and half a pound of grated cheese.
- 3 Strew sifted bread crumbs on top and bake until delicately brown.
- 4 Whip the whites of three eggs to a stiff froth and place on top.
- 5 Return to the oven for a few minutes to set the meringue.
