Charlotte Russe Cream Dessert
Ingredients
- 1 pint heavy cream, whipped
- 1/2 ounce gelatin
- 1/4 cup hot milk
- 2 egg whites, beaten to stiff peaks
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or almond extract
- Sponge cake slices or ladyfingers
Method
- 1 Dissolve gelatin in hot milk and let cool completely.
- 2 Beat egg whites to stiff peaks.
- 3 Whip heavy cream until light.
- 4 Combine cream, egg whites, powdered sugar, and flavoring.
- 5 Fold in the cooled gelatin mixture gently.
- 6 Line a mold with sponge cake slices or ladyfingers.
- 7 Fill the mold with the cream mixture.
- 8 Chill on ice or in refrigerator until set.
