Charlotte Russe Cake With Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons boiling water
  • 1 large cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 package gelatin
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • sugar to taste
  • flavoring to taste

Method

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, eggs, and boiling water to form a batter.
  2. 2 Bake the batter in a cake pan until done, similar to a sandwich cake.
  3. 3 Dissolve gelatin in a little milk. Whip cream to stiff peaks.
  4. 4 Fold dissolved gelatin, sugar, and flavoring into the whipped cream.
  5. 5 Spread the cream mixture over the top of the cooled cake.
