Caraway Seed Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 ½ cups butter
- ½ cup sweet milk
- 1 teaspoon saleratus (baking soda)
- 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
- Flour, as needed to roll out
Method
- 1 Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- 2 Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the milk.
- 3 Mix in the caraway seeds and dissolved saleratus.
- 4 Gradually add flour until the dough is thick enough to roll out.
- 5 Roll out, cut into shapes, and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until set.
