Caraway Seed Butter Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2-3 tbsp water
  • sugar for sprinkling

Method

  1. 1 Rub butter into flour until crumbly. Stir in caraway seeds.
  2. 2 Add beaten egg yolks and enough water to form a stiff paste.
  3. 3 Roll dough thin and cut into shapes using a glass or cutter.
  4. 4 Prick cakes with a fork. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. 5 Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 425°F until golden brown.
