Caraway Seed Buns With Comfits
Ingredients
- 1 lb fine flour
- ½ lb butter
- 6 eggs
- 1 tbsp yeast
- ¾ cup milk
- 6 oz sifted sugar
- Caraway seeds
- 6-8 caraway comfits per bun
Method
- 1 Rub flour and butter together with your hands.
- 2 Beat six eggs and add them to the flour mixture along with yeast and milk.
- 3 Mix everything together and let rise in a warm place for one hour.
- 4 Stir in sifted sugar and caraway seeds.
- 5 Shape into buns using a tablespoon and place on a baking sheet.
- 6 Top each with caraway comfits and bake in a 425°F oven for 10 minutes.
