Caraway Seed Buns With Comfits

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fine flour
  • ½ lb butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tbsp yeast
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 6 oz sifted sugar
  • Caraway seeds
  • 6-8 caraway comfits per bun

Method

  1. 1 Rub flour and butter together with your hands.
  2. 2 Beat six eggs and add them to the flour mixture along with yeast and milk.
  3. 3 Mix everything together and let rise in a warm place for one hour.
  4. 4 Stir in sifted sugar and caraway seeds.
  5. 5 Shape into buns using a tablespoon and place on a baking sheet.
  6. 6 Top each with caraway comfits and bake in a 425°F oven for 10 minutes.
