Caraway Seed And Candied Fruit Gingerbread Cakes
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 1 cup treacle
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 2 oz caraway seeds
- 4 oz candied citron and lemon peel
- 4 egg yolks
Method
- 1 Cut the candied citron and lemon peel into small pieces.
- 2 In a large bowl, mix the flour, treacle, sugar, ginger, caraway seeds, candied fruit, and egg yolks until well combined.
- 3 Form the mixture into large cakes and place on baking sheets.
- 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until set and lightly browned.
