Caramelized Apple Cider Marmalade
Ingredients
- 2 gallons sweet cider
- 2 gallons apples, peeled and chopped
- 2 to 3 pounds sugar
Method
- 1 Boil 2 gallons of sweet cider down to 1 gallon.
- 2 Peel and chop 2 gallons of apples. Pour the reduced cider out of the kettle and clean it.
- 3 Place the apples in the clean kettle. Pour the reduced cider back in and add 2 to 3 pounds of sugar.
- 4 Stew the mixture for 4 hours. Do not stir until nearly done to prevent burning; if you stir once, continue stirring.
